Welcome to the OutdoorWiki

The OutdoorWiki is a place to gather information, related to outdoors activities, that you want to share, or don't want to lose. As you find data on the internet, for trips you're planning, you can organize that information in a single location. That way, you don't have to worry about collecting it again. The best part is, that you can see information that other people have gathered, and share yours with your friends and family.

How it works

The OutdoorWiki is based on the exact same software that powers Wikipedia, the brilliant system started by Jimmy Wales. The Wiki format is great, because it allows everyone to take part in the collection of information. Hopefully, with the help of some other dedicated users, we can make this THE place to be for outdoor information. You'll have to make an account if you wish to modify any of this information.

OpenOutdoors

In addition to the Outdoor Wiki, a new project called "Open Outdoors" provides a way to share your GPS data regarding the outdoors with other people who might be interested. You can tie this information back to the Outdoor Wiki, to add more value to the articles the you define here.
