Luther Marsh Conservation Area
From OutdoorWiki
Luther Marsh Wildlife Management Area is a biological treasure tucked away in the upper reaches of the valley of the Grand River. Here on the Dundalk Plateau the headwaters of the Grand River begin. And here, only a sixty minute drive from Pearson International Airport, is one of southern Ontario's most significant wetlands and wildlife habitat areas. It is jointly owned and managed by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and the Grand River Conservation Authority.
The Area contains over 5,200 hectares (13,000 acres) of incredible diversity. Surrounding the 1,400 hectare open marsh reservoir are lowland swamps, shrubby bogs, plantations, natural forest and crop land. The diversity of habitat, and the area's large size, make this an important place for wildlife. Naturally, this makes the area important to people who value the opportunity to have exceptional wildlife experiences.
