Perched high on the Niagara Escarpment, the 40 hectare Petun Conservation Area gives visitors endless opportunities to hike, explore unique fern and moss communities and take in unforgettable views of the surrounding landscape. The Bruce Trail winds it's way through the property amidst some incredible rock faces, cliffs and crevices. The area is rich in groundwater and several headwater tributaries of Black Ash Creek originate on the property.

The Georgian Triangle Anglers Association has been successful in releasing thousands of young trout and salmon that were raised in the Petun hatchery into local streams and Georgian Bay since the early nineties.
